  • A choice of teas, fresh coffee and orange juice.

  • Cereals, yoghurts, fruit, preserves and toast.    

 

Full English - Westmorland sausages, bacon, roasted tomato, hash browns, baked beans, mushroom and a choice of eggs (vegetarian option also available if requested in advance). 

 

Choice of plain Omelette with either bacon, sausage or tomato

   * Unfortunately we do not cater for Gluten Free requirements or Nut, Egg & 

      Seed allergies. 

  

ACCOMMODATION

OUR ROOMS & FACILITIES

Each of our rooms have en-suite facilities, a spacious shower, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee refreshments, a hairdryer, and a 32" TV.
All rooms have a luxury, queen-sized bed, or two single beds, if booked as a twin. 
Guests and their visitors also have access to the residents' lounge, with free Wi-Fi, and an adjoining, seated  patio area.

OUR 2024 PRICES 

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation:

Two people sharing a double or twin room -£120 per night.

Single occupancy (in a double room) - £110 per night.

Discounts may be available for long stay, direct and out of season bookings.

Barrowgarth is a period Guest House situated in the charming, ancient market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, offering easy access to the Eden Valley, the North Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Lake District National Park. 
The Guest House is located, within a two minute walk from the town centre, and five minutes from the                          with off-street parking and secure cycle storage. We aim to provide relaxing, high quality bed and breakfast accommodation for visitors to the area.

Cancellation policy – No cancellation fee applies, but for availability purposes, please give us a minimum of five calendar days notice from reservation date if you need to cancel.

Other Terms and Conditions - No smoking or vaping is permitted inside Barrowgarth Guest House.  The owners do not accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to guest's possessions during their stay.

Unfortunately our car park is unable to accommodate vans or trucks.

How to reach us by road…

 If using sat nav, the postcode for Barrowgarth Guest House is CA16 6XT.  See below for precise location, or use what3words: fast.unguarded.clay

From the East on the A1:  Use the A66 junction at Scotch Corner, heading west towards Brough and Penrith.  It takes about 40 to 45 mins to reach the Appleby exit.  As you get to the top of the exit slip road, turn left at the junction and continue into the town. Passing the Co-op and the river on your left (you’re almost there), continue up the hill.  Just past the first right-hand turn, sign posted to the station, Barrowgarth Guest House can be found on the right.  Please pull up the sloped drive into the guest carpark immediately on the right.

From the West travelling South on the M6:  Leave the M6 at junction 40 (Penrith), and take the A66 eastbound. It takes about 15mins to reach the Appleby exit.  Taking the exit, keep left on the slip road and then turn left at the junction. Continue towards the town, under the bridge and down the hill.  Barrowgarth Guest House can be found halfway down the hill on the left.  Please slow as you approach, and pull up the sloped drive into the guest carpark immediately on the right.

From the West, travelling North on the M6:  Leave the M6 at junction 38 (Tebay), take the B6260 to Appleby. Follow the road into the town centre, through the market place and over the bridge. At the junction just beyond the bridge, turn left.  Continue past the river on your left, and head up the hill (you’re almost there). Just past the first right-hand turn, sign posted to the station, Barrowgarth Guest House can be found on the right.  Please pull up the sloped drive into the guest carpark immediately on the right.

How to reach us by rail…

Appleby has its own station: https://www.thetrainline.com/stations/appleby .  Alternatively use the West Coast Main line to Penrith then the bus service to Appleby.  A bus timetable is available from Cumbria County Council.  Barrowgarth Guest House is few minutes walk from the station and the bus stop. Our location in town is shown on the map above..
